Week 2

We are realizing that Saturday may be a difficult day to remember to take the weekly picture. We almost forgot this week and it's only week 2. This does not give me much hope for the rest of the the year but we'll see.

Watch out Roger Federer! Not sure which is more impressive the fact that Henry hit the ball or the fact that I actually managed to get a picture of the ball flying off his racket.

Chicken coop update: Chickens are well. We usually get 2-3 eggs per day. Yesterday was a neighborhood coop tour and there were tons of people who stopped by. Derek was busy answering questions from 1-4 pm. I included a picture of the coop since Derek got the final coat of paint on. Now it matches our house. (bonus of building a chicken coop after having painted your entire house and having leftover paint)

The boys' preferred modes of transportation these days. Henry on the balance bike (although the scooter ranks right up there too). Hans in the wrap (nice and cozy and much preferred over the stroller).

Week 1 (and other pictures)

Here we go again with the original reason for this blog. Now that Hans is here we will attempt to do a weekly picture for friends and family far (and near). This week's picture was kind of quick and not very good but that's the way it goes.

The first family picture. Quite sad since it was impromptu. Derek has paint in his hair from painting the coop, I have a weird look on my face, Henry has pjs on and Hans is only wearing a not-so-nice tie-dye shirt. I guess this just shows a glimpse into our life right now.

Three Years Old

So as you can tell from the previous post. Our lives just got busier, roughly ten times busier. However, we're lucky enough to have grandparents here right now which means I have time to blog. Fortunately, we made it home from the hospital Sunday evening which meant we were home in time for Henry's birthday.

Here are some pictures of the birthday boy. He seems huge (as a wise commenter mentioned on our previous post) in comparison to Hans. He is also doing a great job as a big brother.

Henry also got some fun new toys. A marble roller and scooter. He quickly took to the scooter (as it has wheels). The marble roller is great but is easy to knock over.

Welcome Hans!

So we would like to introduce all (five) of you to Hans Jacob Nussbaum Wagler. Hans was born Saturday, June 12 at 9:11 am. He measured 19.5 inches and tipped the scales at a whopping 6 lbs 14 oz.

More biking

As I write this, I'm feeling that maybe we need to enroll Henry in soccer, baseball or some other sport--we're a bit to bike focused right now. I finally found a used balance bike on Friday and we're guessing that Henry's already logged 3 miles on it if not more. Usually he rides it while Derek walks/jogs with Zoe. Then they have to stop for me to catch up (or I stay at home).

Part of the reason for logging so much time on the bike is that the city had a special event this weekend where major streets are shut down to cars and people can bike/run/walk/rollerblade on them. There is food, obstacle courses, music, kids activities, etc. Unfortunately, my non-biking riding pregnant state kept me at home so I can only experience it through the pictures and the stories from Henry and Derek. I'm very sad I missed it since Henry had a blast on the bike obstacle course (see pics below). Thankfully, there is another event scheduled for later this summer that I hope to make it to.
