I (Tina) had a toy semi when growing up (probably because Todd had one) so now Henry is enjoying it. He played with it for about 45 minutes last night.
The play nativity scene is also very popular. Although earlier today the donkey and cow were using the roof as a slide!
The other "child" (furry child) traveled well too--as always. She is enjoying all the smells of things cooking in the kitchen here.
Henry and Levi were playing on the couch and I finally got their attention long enough to snap this picture. Less baby and more little boy every day.
In this shot, Henry was actually trying to remove the ornament from our tree. It turned out pretty cool 'cause it looks kinda like he's decorating the tree.
We went to see an indoor holiday train setup. Very popular although Henry was concerned about the trains that were not moving.
This is why people don't usually try to have pets and kids in the same photo. There is always one that is never looking at the camera!

Unfortunately, the place we went to didn't have pumpkins left in the patch so we had to settle for pre-picked pumpkins on the wagon. (we also missed out on a hayride)
It was very cold and windy on Sunday but Henry didn't seem to mind it as he ran around the apple trees, tripped over the apples on the ground and was covered with apple parts by the time we left.

Tonight it was time to start processing. Here Henry and Derek are working on prepping the apples for drying.
Henry was very excited (and focused) when it was his turn to operate the apple peeler. He just kept singing "peel, peel, peel" over and over again. Now we just have to wait a few days and put the next batch on the dehydrator.
This is Henry with his friends Ben and Levi while they were playing last Friday. Then that evening we headed to a friends house to meet up with my college friends for a weekend.
He loves to play with Daddy's toy tractor. He pushes it around, makes noise, picks it up and my favorite is he puts it to bed some times.
He suddenly likes to interact with Zoe. Here he is taking her leash and collar to her. He also likes to chase her sometimes with push toys. Poor Zoe...she's such a good sport.
Legos--duplo blocks. This is a farm set so he spends most of the time playing with the doors, animals, etc. but does like to try to put blocks together if he's being patient. 
Henry still loves books. Every day we hear the phrase "that book now" multiple times as he toddles toward us book in tow. He also has specific ideas about where to read the books too--"right there" and points to the spot. It's quite funny. Here he is with one of his favorites Richard Scary's Cars and Trucks and Things that go. He'll look at some of the cars like the hammer car and say "that funny." Lastly, the PJs he has on have become quite a favorite as well. He calls them his "doggies" and one morning I couldn't convince him to change out of them until mid-morning.
This depicts what Henry was doing all weekend. Walking around--everywhere. This was a bit tense for me since there were very large roots, it was not level ground and there was a campfire, chairs and other nice things to injure yourself on. Luckily, we made it without any large injuries and Henry's walking on uneven surfaces is greatly improved.
We went on a short hike Sunday morning. Here are Henry and I at the lake destination. Henry didn't make it far into the walk and cashed out. (The little hood over his head keeps it from flopping around while I walk)
While Derek and I unpacked Henry inspected the broom and rested on the floor (followed by nap number 2 for the day) with dear Zoe who didn't get to go camping this time. (but did get to go swimming later) We're hoping to go camping again before it gets too cold. Henry just had too much fun and we forgot until this weekend how much we enjoy camping. And it's actually quite a nice toddler-friendly family thing to do.
So we're still busy. We're busy chasing Henry around and comforting him after his falls. This nice shiner was a result of a fall on the sidewalk. The next day he fell in the house while "running" and created a mirror image on the other side. Now it looks like he has horns. Such is life. Luckily he usually recovers quick and goes about toddling around some more.
This is what I did while Henry took a nap today. Thankfully he is napping larger amounts at once so I had about 2 hours to can some cucumbers for pickles. I haven't done much canning before but I became inspired to preserve local, seasonal foods after getting the cookbook Simply in Season and then reading Animal, Vegetable, Miracle by Barbara Kingsolver. We already tried to eat locally and seasonally but we took it a step further this year. We signed up for a CSA (community supported agriculture) with a larger share than what we received in the past so we could do some preserving. We also put in a bunch of tomatoes, pole beans, herbs, and peas in our tiny little garden. The peas didn't do so well but the I've been freezing quite a bit of pole beans and they are still blooming. This week my tomato crop peaked so I'm going to take care of my tomato mess (see picture below) on Monday by canning tomotoes and also canning some pasta sauce. We'll see how it goes. It will be work but will all be worth it in January when we have yummy vegetables!
Levi is very helpful. We were getting ready to go on a walk and I said we needed sunscreen and hats. Levi put on his own hat and put Henry's on too. A little crooked but very cute.
