Funny mid-February Pics

Take a 2.5 year old. Add REAL underwear and too-small pajamas and you get a perpetual wedgie. Might be time for some new pajamas.
Haven't posted dog pics in a while. Thought this was sort of cute.
This is the type of motion that gets one into the aforementioned wedgie. Just so you know we have the stereo behind the couch to keep it 'out of reach.' Hmm.
Henry got a new toy this weekend. A vacuum. I think he's actually spent more time using it than I (Derek) have.
Look closely and you can see that both Henry and the ball are off the ground. Sort of looks like he's a sorcerer.

Hockey

He's obsessed. Every day he wants to go play hockey. We're working on actually skating but at 2.5 years old, he's a little unsteady on skates. Anyway, we've gone out 'skating' twice this week plus we were out on Sunday. He loves it. So much so that yesterday we got about 1.5 inches of snow and I told Henry we couldn't go out skating b/c the ice was covered and he lost it. All out crying and tears.

So tonight we went back out. He actually skated (with ice skates and a lot of help) for about 10-15 min. Until my back had enough. Then we went for the boots and the stick. Which is when the real fun happens.

That is, until he slipped and fell face-first onto the ice. Now he actually looks like a hockey player. Yup, that's a fat lip.

Random January Stuff

The major holidays have come and gone. With nothing huge looming in the future we'll just make due with some random pictures.

First, a creation that Henry and I put together. I think it contains about 80% of his legos.

Second, ball sports that include kicking. Always fun.
Finally, eating ice cream. REALLY fun.

Long overdue Christmas post

We traveled to Ohio over Christmas. I think it's the most uneventful trip we've had in awhile with amazing lack of traffic and weather issues. We had nice time in Ohio and overall was quite relaxing. Here are some things we did other than the obvious opening of gifts and playing with new toys.Helping Grandma make cookies.
Grandma Janet and Henry all decked out in their red snow gear for our walk on a cold day.

Grandpa Delmar reading to Greg, Doug and Henry (sorry Greg is behind the plant)

We were greeted on our return to very cold weather and some fresh snow. Derek decided to see if Henry liked sledding. That was a definite yes. I'm guessing they will go again once the wind chill is above -5 or something bit balmier. Here is a nice compilation of their time sledding. (Thanks to Chris for taking the pictures)

Picture/Video Updates

Last weekend it warmed up enough that Henry and I (Derek) got to build a snowman. Our neighbor saw us out working on the snowman and came over with a 'snowman kit' for us to use. This kit included almost everything you see on the snowman (scarf, nose, eyes, mouth, pipe) except the hat and the arms. Before you pass too much judgement, remember that he's only 2.5.
Besides that excitement, we've been enjoying listening to what Henry has to say and watching him play and grow. Here's a little video sampling of the last month.

I don't know where he gets this idea from about standing and singing with a guitar. Maybe his uncle Trent had something to do with it.
Oh and what language is that?
This is exactly how he sings at church during congregational hymns.

Loudly.

It can be a little distracting for everyone within a 10 ft radius.

Hello Winter.

We have just a bit of snow on the ground. Today was spent at home digging out since I'm not sure we could've made it anywhere anyways. Henry was disappointed that the snow didn't work to make a very good snowman. I'm guessing we'll have another chance this winter.
