Week 33
We finally managed to post this weeks picture on time!! This past week Henry has started to clap, eat more solids, grow a second bump in his mouth (where his next tooth is) and continue to make us laugh, smile and wonder what we ever did with all our time before him! I'm a bit embarrassed by the weekly picture since it shows how dirty he is after eating and his less than stylish bib--prunes and green beans are pretty messy. I also included him eating Cheerios. He really isn't eating much but working on fine motor skills while waiting on us to get his real food ready. It is quite amusing to watch though.

Week 32
Here's the 32 week picture. We celebrated 2 milestones with Henry this week. First, he finally pushed his first tooth through. This was accompanied with the usual fanfare of fussing, drooling and chewing on everything. Secondly, it seems he is starting to associate words with objects. He definitely responds to his name, but for the first time, a couple of nights ago, I asked the little man where the kitty was and he turned to look at Abby across the room while flashing a big grin.
Henry also continues to surprise us with is ability to reach and grab things around him. He is definitely showing interest in getting objects out of his reach but has thus far been unable to move himself beyond rolling or falling over (when seated).

week 31
We haven't been too good at posting lately. We take the picture on time but don't seem to find the time to post it until the weekend. This week Henry had another rough day on Thursday--maybe because of teeth? The picture isn't great but it's the best we could get. Henry is continuing to change and is quite entertaining for us. He's mastering sitting up and is getting into reaching for things. He's also babbling more than he used to. This weekend we were lucky to have our friends Lisa, Breck and Eliza spend the day with us on Saturday. It was so nice to stay inside all day and just catch up with friends and watch babies play.

Week 30
Here's the week 30 picture. Henry was not feeling up to smiling this particular evening as his teeth, or more correctly the pesky painful bumps that will eventually become his teeth were giving him some pain.

Also pictured are some shots of Henry helping me sort clean laundry. Tina and I were talking about these pictures, and I think in middle-class America this may be some unspoken right of passage for all 6-7 month old children. Sitting (and drooling) in/on a big pile of clean laundry while the parents work around you. I find it amusing that something so mundane and ordinary like a pile of clean laundry can be made so darn cute by a little person.

Other big news, last night (Saturday) Tina and I went out for Tina's birthday. This marked the very first time, since June 10 (when we celebrated our anniversary and 4 days before the boy was born) that we 'went out' without taking Henry along. It was nice. We've decided that it should be something we do more regularly. Oh and thanks a lot Bao.

Week 29

Late again--I was hoping to start off the new year by actually posting weekly pictures on time but I failed the first week. Again, I took the picture Thursday but just didn't have time to post it. As you can see, Henry is still drooling a lot and we keep thinking the tooth on the bottom will poke through the bump but nothing as of this morning.
Since Henry is sitting on his own now it has opened a whole other world for us. It's so nice that he can sit on the floor and reach into a toy bin and pull out what he wants. I think he's enjoying his new perspective on the world around him. He's also really enjoying all the new toys he received for Christmas. It was nice timing since many require sitting up to really enjoy fully.

Week 28.5 - Oops
So once again we missed the weekly picture. But, we made up for it with a really cute week 28.5 picture below.

The Holidays were a lot of fun, but we're very happy to be home again. Henry has somewhat recovered from the excitement and disturbance to what routine we had before the holidays. He's also grown quite fond of solid foods. So far his repertoire includes sweet potato, prunes, rice cereal, oat cereal, yogurt, bananas and pears. Being the incredible mom that she is, Tina has taken it upon herself to make all of his food; the only side-effect has been his refusal to eat bought baby food (little snob).
Hope you all are doing well! And Happy 2008.
